You can always put an add on the classified section or in Dubizzle and specify you are looking for a live out maid. For examples you can take a look at the classifieds. edited by Yasmine on 17/03/2011

Thanks everyone, this is a good help. Are there any other agencies? My house not big enough for a live in, so will have to see what happens!

Hi Clairehdp In ajman and sharjah, the agencies do not provide part time maids and you have to sponsor them full time and arrange their accomodation, and most people i know have part time maids from these ads or word of mouth. This info is a fact of life for anyone living here, Maybe in dubai the agencies can supply part time maids, i dont know about that. If So, its better to do it the legal way and be on the safe side.

Magpie is not correct about hiring and sponsoring. You CAM hire a part timer through a maid agency and you DON'T have to sponsor her. If you want a full timer you hve to sponsor and pay for their live out accommodation. You cannot hire a part timer direct without sponsoring though. Please be aware that the fines are big if you hire illegally.

Hi karen I found the lady who comes to my house in an ad left at my doorstep in my building. I called her and she came in and it worked out fine. When she left, she hooked me up with one of her reliable friends. The rates where I live (that's in ajman)are 25dhs/ hour and she does whatever you want. You can also agree on a fixed monthly rate of around 700 or 800 and she'll come in every day for a couple of hours. If you want her all day then the rates are higher than that. But just so you know this is illegal and unreliable. I've been lucky with the ladies that come to my house but others are not, and you also want her for childcare not just housework, so be careful. Or you could do it the proper way and get someone from an agency but you will have to sponsor her and she will have to live with you. I wish you all the best, just always triple check the person who you leave your children with. It's not worth the risk. Take care.

I am looking to find some help with my 2 year old and around the house. I would prefer a "non Live In" helper - does anyone have any information on how that works over here? where do you find them? And what rates do you pay?
