Mine are 6 and under so the 2 little ones finish at 12.30...far too early! It's a mad rush to get out the door in the morns too as they hate waking up so early, mini teenagers!
scientifically been proven somewhere (although cant remember where) that children's maximum learning happens between 8am-10am.... obviously staying past 12.30 would be too log for the little ones, no?
its about their development, not pick-up convenience, no?
:)
That's really interesting that maximum learning happens between 8-10! If this is the case why don't the schools in th UK start until 9am? For me it's not about pick up convenience, it's about having to wake them up so early to get ready, it would be preferable if they could wake up naturally was all I meant! So rushed every day!
Why do mornings here go so fast, everything is such a rush...but afternoons drag? I would love school to start at 9 and finish at 3, then home for snacks, play, dinner, bed! Just my little rant for the day!
So true! My LO starts nursery at 8am then I drop my 2nd off at school by 8.30. I go to the gym maybe do the food shopping, eat some lunch & hey it"s time to pick LO up by 1pm.

What age are your children? Mine goes to school from 8 (well he leaves at 7:10) until 3:30 (he comes home at 3:50, 4:50 if he has after school activities that day).
Much better than in the US when he went from 7:45 until 1:45!
