Do you all fee it's safe to pay online using your credit card? About 2 years ago I made some purchases online and then someone tried to use my card in Italy to buy airline tickets and then rail tickets. Since then I have not used my card on line and generally look for a cash on delivery option which is only sometimes available but it puses up the overall cost.

I'm getting hooked on these web sites offering deals-today on gonabit you can buy a voucher worth 100dh for 20dh for use on Naheel.com which I thought is good value as itune cards 149dh. I don't want to use my credit card though.

What do most people do? Some sites are offering paypal - do you have to open an account there and deposit some cash? That 's the other thing, I don't want money sitting around in lots of accounts (I could open a gonabit acount) because I think I'd spend it more easily!

Thanks for your help.

Was it stuff you could use? nope - 2 items of male clothing - the rest of the order got cancelled in time and the company refunded us (didn't bother claiming for the aramex bill though).

we all buy loads online - teen had his details used before we moved here and someone ordered a load of stuff in his name !! Apart from that we've had no problems. If you get a paypal account you register your debit or credit cards then each time you use it you tell it which card to use and it takes the money direct. You don't need to pay any money into it beforehand.

Thanks, I'm getting anxious now as 456 people have bought the 20dh voucher on gonabit and I'm afraid it's going to sell out. Maybe i'll chance it!

I too use my credit card for a fair few online purchases and have never had any problems. Ironically, the one time someone did use our credit card fraudulently was when someone working in a shop where we used it then stole the details and used it to purchase air tix to India.

I always use my credit card and have never had any problems and I'm a compulsive online shopper, holiday booker and Cobone buyer! I have been the victim of fraud though however that;s because my card was cloned in a petrol station in the UK!
