Has anyone had any dealings with this agency? I telephoned an agency this morning, who told me that they couldn't supply me with a part-time maid in the Meadows. Next thing I knew, I got a call from Cristina, who told me her friend had told her I needed someone to come in a few times a week. How do I find out if the agency is reputable/legal?

simpleasabc there is not way i would use them... the company was stared by a philipina that was an accountant for Ultra Cleaning (own by a British man that treads the maid and staff very well) question where she would of got the money from to start her own business! they are in the process of trying to get all the maids from ultra by bringing the company down! christina used to be the supervisor for ultra same as Aileen and hazel! they are waiting for every maid contract to finish so they can get them over to their own company! if u tell me that is not a very nice thing to do! especially to someone that looks after you! Interesting, especially as I now realize what happened - I'd left a message on Ultra's answering machine and got a call from Pearl telling me their friend in another company had told them I was looking for someone. When I asked which company, I didn't hear the answer properly, and I wondered why I never heard back from Ultra. Now I know. I used them once and the girl took forever cleaning, so I complained and we got two more girls to help her but I had to pay for an extra hour. Thought OK, it was all right for a first time, so said come again. That night, realized the reason she'd taken so long in our bedroom was that she'd broken the blinds, lost the end tags and worst of all, hadn't told us what she'd done..

Thanks for the replies. I have to admit, to me, what is called a maid here I would call a cleaning lady, so "cleaning services" should cover it - except "Building Cleaning Services" sounds more to me like sand blasting the outside of a house, which is not what I want, and the rest of the stuff mentioned under their trade licence looks much more like building contractors. They certainly don't mention anything like that on their "maids" website, which is still under construction. Hmm.

I have never heard of them and if nobody else has would sound dodgy to me. They would have to have a trade licence though and if you went ahead and decided to use them you could ask to see this. Are they listed anywhere? Yellow pages? Sorry not really much help.
