My 5 yr old DS will need his tonsils out. Wondering about hospitals, docs etc. and looking for experiences and recommendations.
Thanks!

Hi I also recommend Dr Baghat from MISC, my then 6 yo DS had his adenoids and tonsils out as he had constant mucus and colds / infections and I am so thrilled with the results, all winter he has only had 1 or 2 days with a little mucus, sooo much better. Before this at least a month he would need anti b's to get rid of all the infections. I read the previous thread attached and some mentioned his manner, I always found him very nice and helpful and he answered my questions patiently as probably thought god another paranoid mum asking too many questions !!! But I guess some may think he is not the most chatty but I found it actually calming and he explained how many ops they do etc and it's all quite simple so he actually made me feel okay and I knew his reputation was brilliant so stuck with him and we actually liked him very much. And at the hospital he was lovely and gave loads of info and updates, I would def recommend him. He had also been introduced to me by my Paed Dr Keith Nicholl who is also a gem ! Good luck ;)

Ds had his tonsils adenoids and grommets put in last May by Dr John McEwan. He is great for Mummys as well as children with regards to answering questions and reassurances. His clinic is medi Care on Al Wasl rd and he operates at City Hospital, where they have a fantastic peadiatric anaesatist (sp). It was the best thing I ever did for my son.

I'm no expert, but I thought they had stopped taking tonsils out nowadays? ETA: sorry that was really unhelpful! Just wanted to add, our pediatrician Dr Keith Nicholl recommended ENT Dr Bahgat Medical International Specialist Centre: # 04349910 He's an ENT surgical specialist. edited by Ashleigh on 19/04/2011
