I urge everyone, please take few minutes and read this blog, and other links at the end of the article(if u have time).

It is very much so informative and gives you explanation of how the system works and what the real nuclear risks are.

After todays blast and the suspected damage I would be highly concerned. They have increased the evacuation area around the plant. Obviously there is a enormous problem that everyone should take seriously. And silly men like that who wrote the blog should not be writing such rubbish

I had a look at the link and the article has been removed. I am no expert but the news here (and internationally) is saying very, very clearly that this is an incredibly dangerous situation. How anyone can suggest otherwise is beyond me. edited by Green-ish on 15/03/2011

The situation is extremely serious now with these plants. If you have any reliable sources it would be helpful. In my country papers the headlines are really scary. But if you read the article it has nothing to do with the headline. Bottom is nobody knows!

4 metres in what way? The island has shifted on its axis, look up BBC for further details i don't want to look at news anymore! Friday’s bulk 8.9 trembler in Japan shifted Earth on a pivot and condensed a length of a day by a hair. In a future, scientists said, it will yield an scarcely accurate perspective of how Earth is misshapen during vast earthquakes during sites where one image is shifting underneath another, including a U.S. Pacific Northwest. The scarcely abounding fact comes from an endless network of sensors that were placed during sites opposite Japan after that country’s Kobe trembler of 1995, a bulk 6.8 upheaval that killed some-more than 6,000 people since a epicenter was nearby a vital city. “The Japanese have a best seismic information in a world,” pronounced Lucy Jones, arch scientist for a Multi-Hazards devise during a U.S. Geological Survey, during a Saturday news discussion during Caltech in Pasadena. “This is overwhelmingly a best-recorded good trembler ever.”

Would you stick around their "radious" with a radiation leak without protective gear on regardless of what they say?

ummm - so why have increased levels of radiation been picked up by a US ship 100 miles away? I notice on news reports that at the radiation scanning stations where they scan residents fleeing the evacuation zone that the guys doing the scanning are dressed in full radiation protection suits -makes me wonder if they know something that we don't

Thank you for posting this, it took me a lot longer than a few minutes to read and understand it, but it makes sense and I tend to believe it. I still have not decided to go to Japan in April as booked, the nuclear containment was/is a worry . The area we are going is not hit but I can imagine that there will be power cuts throughout the country due to shortage in electricity. On the other hand they will need the support from tourists and others to be able to rebuild their country. Difficult decision and my thoughts are with the Japanese People.
