Try as I may, I never manage to look like those pristine ladies in full evening makeup, heels and bathing suit, so much as a hobo with straggly hair and black streaks down my face after proudly demonstrating my signature underwater handstands. So, who can recommend some seriously waterproof makeup for my upcoming hol? Sadly I look very ropey these days when going au naturale so need some slap which will stay put. Thanks muchly! :)

Em2san, what's an MUA? And where can I get that makeup, sounds pretty good...why is it extreme though? I don't mind making everyone else look shabby, is rarely happens so it would be a nice treat :)

This is a bit extreme but a MUA I know [and one I refuse to go to beaches or waterparks with anymore'> wears Kryolan's aqua proof make up. It looks really natural - never smudges, streaks or fades and makes. Downside is it makes everyone around you look really shabby. edited by em2san on 30/03/2011

All excellent tips, thank you! I might go for the lash dye or extensions then. Don't need proper foundation so that's ok, just lashes and liner really. As for no makeup, no way. Dh just got a new mega zoom billion mega pixel fancy camera thing, and will not be talked out of bringing it sadly. And to the lady who suggested no underwater handstands, are you kidding me? The only reason I even go on holiday is to generously share my skills in underwater handstands with the world. I also have a trick called the George Washington which is always appreciated but which there is not enough room on this page to describe.

Get eyelash extensions for your holiday,so no need for mascara. Go for a full spraytan session then no need for foundation. A nice shine lipgloss inbetween swims and you will look effortlesly chic.

LOL I don't get it, you're going on holiday so it's fine to have the nude look.

I really hate seeing women with full makeup on at the beach and pool..ugh! anyway....I second getting your eyebrows and eyelashes dyed and I am sure I have seen sun screen with a tint to it so it would be waterproof. Please please no lipstick..nothing more scary that a woman swimming towards you with bright red lips!

hmmm well, get your lashes and eyebrows dyed that way you might only need a bit of eyeshadow :)...as for face, and if you are on the beach, tinted moisturizer if you like. I sure would not wear foundation i n the water. Cannot recommend any waterproof foundation that looks nice though. Why not do a google search? maybe not show the handstands you are famous for lol???? get a little fake tan on your face and blend neck shoulders and feather it out so no lines and dont forget the sides and back of neck :)....then you wont need foundation hence, no running of anything :)_
