It will be very difficult to get a spot for your kids at this point for those grades at what are considered the "top" American schools in Dubai (American School of Dubai, Dubai American Academy). Unless your husband's company has reserved seats for their employees and are still available. The only school that may have availability is Bradenton Prep. and Collegiate American School (but please do the research on these).
As for where to live..it depends on how far you want to drive and how long you can deal with being in traffic lol
For us... the schools pretty much dictated where we live.

I will be relocating from Pennsylvania in the US hopefully in January to join my husband with my three high school age children, 1 senior and 2 sophomores. I have researched some schools and communities south of the Dubai Mall and on the outer areas of Abu Dhabi, and either city would end up being about the same commute time for my husband.
So, I am asking for any American curriculum school and community combinations that you think would provide an easy mid year transition for 3 American high school students. Our kids are definitely excited about the move and we are hoping to find a good expat community for both my me and my husband and one that the kids will enjoy living in. Our children are typical American teenagers, in a good way, and we hope to find a community where they can be social with other kids while experiencing the new culture. Our housing allowance is capped at 300,000dh and we cannot keep any extra that we don't spend.
