Hello! I previously posted on here about my husband living in Qatar and how I planned to join him there. Well now he is resident in Dubai and I will be moving in April 2018 to join him! I am excited but very apprehensive at the same time. I would love some advice from people who have made this move to help me build a picture of how things may be. The main concern I have at the minute is how I get my wee dog over. I have looked at possible options as I really didn’t want him to have to go into the hold of a plane! However, it seems he will have to so I ask if you can recommend reputable dog transport companies I could look into. Is it possible for me to be with him as soon as I come off the plane? Any tips, or advice you think could help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

We brought our cat over from Kent nearly a year ago. We used a local firm there who used Snoopy Pets here. He was absolutely fine and has adjusted well to life in the sunshine. I say go for it.

Hi, I recently brought my Norfolk Terrier over from Manchester. I was pretty horrified that he'd have to fly in the hold and was really worried about putting him through it. All I can say is that he seems to have come out of it fine! He was so happy to see us when we picked him up and really didn't seem to be bothered about his adventure! We used Emirates to fly him over. The pet relocation company did everything, there are so many forms to fill it's well worth getting them to handle everything both in the UK and on arrival in Dubai. We used James Cargo in Manchester, they were great. Monty had to check in 4 hours before the flight - we decided to take the same flight as him. In Dubai we used Dubai Kennels and Cattery (dkc.ae) who were excellent. We were warned that he would have to wait 3-5 hours to get through all the import process but we got him just after 3 hours. They called me to tell me he was fine while he was waiting for the paperwork to be done. They gave him some food and fresh water and let him stretch his legs, then we got the call to go and collect him from their base near the airport. I can honestly say I now don't know why I stressed out about it all so much! If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to help, Sheelagh
