St Paul de Vence I second this, I used to live in a little town in Nice called Pond Du Loup. its amazing, very close to Grasse and Bar Su Loup and St Paul De Vence. stunning scenery and half an hour to the beach. I wish I lived back there.

Le Plan-de-la-Tour inland, or Antibes by the sea.

Great thanks for the suggestion, I will have a look at that area. We are going in May so hopefully we will get some nice spring weather!

http://www.saintjeancapferrat.fr/forum/index.php?lang=en "the dinner is served :-)" wonderfull amazing place! unfortunately I forgot the name of the hotel where we used to stay. Will ask DH tonight :-) I'll vote for St Jean Cap Ferrat, too! Absolutely gorgeous! But I wouldn't plan to go there in July or August, as the whole South of France will be awfully crowded...

Can anyone suggest a good area to stay in thats not too far from Nice? I have been looking for a 1 bedroom apartment on the holiday rentals website but there are so many listed in the surrounding areas I dont know what I am looking for! Any suggestions? We have a toddler so guess we stay away from anything with steep hills?! Also any suggestions of good thing to do/see in the area would be greatly appreciated! thanks
