This topic is for Expats living in UAE (a) who want to sponsor a house maid on their own, without using a company and (b) maid already present in UAE on a valid visa of any kind.
First of all, you need to have lot of patience and about 10,000 (ten thousand) Dirhams to sponsor a maid visa in UAE. The whole process is completed in about eight multiple steps and you have to go to many different offices to complete this process. If you are in Sharjah, GPS will not take you to the right place/building and you got to ask many people on the road. At the top of that, many people will give you instructions and directions, but they have no clue about it.
Another issue is language barrier. Most of the people working in these offices could speak Arabic well, but if you don’t know Arabic, then Urdu might help in some cases, but it’s a bit challenging to find English speaking person
