Sun spots - what really works?

Last year I had fraxel laser treatment. The effect was good but probably I did not protect my skin enough then with sun screen and I have a sun spot on my cheek. It is small but ugly and I do wonder what to with. If wihitening cosmetics are enough (what do you recommend?) or perhaps I should apply some professional treatment (again recommendations, pls).
