Being able to take my DS into so many restaurants and feeling comfortable about it, it's so child friendly here, not like back home.

I'm talking big or little things, and things that you may or may not actually approve of. Like you can legally marry more than once if you're a Muslim man, which you can't in many countries. Or being out in a cafe at midnight on a Tuesday with school-age kids isn't regarded in Dubai as an automatic sign of Bad Parenting the way it would be in the UK. Or the fact that there isn't a 100% culture of seatbelt-wearing, or restraining children in a car. Not clearing up after myself in a food court. It irks me NOT to do it (I still tidy and gather everything neatly on the tray to be disposed of) but I don't do it 'cause it will take some wee man's job away if I do. If you did that in Canada - well, I don't know what would happen, 'cause you just wouldn't !

Some of these are great (laughing at the idea of hitting back at tormenting shop assistants!) I originally meant less to do with service stuff, though, than things that were legal and/or socially acceptable in Dubai that weren't at home, wherever home is. Let your kids ride in the car like they are animals or even sit on your knee and help you drive!!!!! I'd love to be a traffic cop here.......

Get out of traffic tickets by batting your eyelashes and asking them not to give you a ticket as you have too many already :) So corruption is a good thing? It isn’t corruption, coz there is no benefits for them (ok, may be just in theirs dreams). ;)

Having the option to choose F & V from all over the world so there is always a variety "in season" as opposed to only having summer food or winter food etc at home. Now, I'm not talking about freshness or lack of it, (that's a whole other topic!) but about the variety. Besides the petrol pumping, groccery deliveries etc, I can also get my car washed here when it is super dirty for only 25dhs, I don't think anyone would get out of bed in Australia for that would they??
