Anyone have directions to the Indian Consulate? You can no longer submit visa applications at the karma post office or any other Empost location. A new company is handling it, but it takes over a week!

Then I guess my DH was lucky with his timing- got his sorted on Monday before this new system came in! Hope you get it sorted.

So does anyone know how to drive to Indian consulate? Have scoured their website and all I see is a fuzzy map. Frustrating thing is that there's no notice or anything at the visa counters! Can't believe how quickly they changed the process. Managed to get my son's visa last week with no problem at all at Empost.

Hi, my husband is Indian and i'm American so have lots of experience with this:) It's true that you cannot get a tourist visa to India at the consulate anymore. I think it's been this way for about a year now. You have to go to empost. (I go to Dubai main post office in Bur Dubai). There, you turn in the application (which is available on the embassy website). submit 2 passport fotos, and a fee (I think around 300 dirham). It's very easy, no waiting in line, and takes around one week. Jennifer

This is very odd. My DH went to the Indian consulate last week to get a visa for India and was redirected to Empost and was told he couldn't do it at the consulate. His visa was issued on Thurs and he travels this week. They must have changed the rules overnight if this is the case. He's a UK passport holder (if this makes any difference). Maybe double check?
