I had both upper and lower eyelids done in 2007 with fantastic results in Yanhee Hospital Bangkok, with Dr Pitch. When I had the stitiches out a week later in another hospital the Dr commented on what a great job Dr Pitch had done. I need the upper ones redoing now and I just checked on their website it's 3,600 aed, for upper and 3,500 aed for lower. I know if I go back I will be satisfied, it's just a case of talking DH into a wee trip to Thailand. Or maybe I'l just go on my own. :-).

I am thinking of getting both upper and lower eyelids done and was hoping that any of the ladies on here that have had this done may be able to provide some recommendations. I have spoken to two doctors, Dr Khan and Dr Rezi, both of whom are good but I dont want just two opinions as I would like to speak to a couple of others before I take the plunge. I would really appreciate your views. TIA

I dont think your brows will drop. My mum did it 10y ago for medical reasons as well, nothing dropped so far :-) Still I think its strange that price here are double and more then in Holland. The most expensive I found back home is 8000 dhs...crazy!

Thanks gopies! It's really much cheaper back home, the best doc is about 1250 euro and starting at are hospitals for 800 euro. It's really a big difference in price...but I guess everything here is more expensive :-). I will go and visit some clinics here to see.

Finally convinced DH and really needed as I start missing view. But where to go and how much? I wanted to fly home for it as it's like max 6000 dhs in Holland. DH says why not here? Any suggestions or first hand results? It cost me more than AED12,000 here in Dubai in 2009 and I had to have the upper lids redone again 2 years later at a cost of about AED15k. (AED6k is really cheap!) I looked quite dodgy for 2 weeks with the upper and lower bleph the first time and again for about a week the second time when I only did the upper lids again. Upper lids much easier than lower ones for healing (you can get a bit freaked out with the lower lids - they pulled downwards and I looked like a blood hound for a while/really badly bruised). It was also quite hard to close my lids the second time for about 8 weeks but when all the swelling went down they were fine. I hid in the house for a week after each one then went on holidays. Strangers didn't notice after a week or so if I wore makeup. I don't think the 2 surgeons who did mine ( Tony Moore and Luis Toledo) are in Dubai any more. I loved Tony Moore So glad I did it in the end but you need to be brave, its not pretty to start with. <em>edited by gopies on 02/03/2014</em>

Thanks Sarahlou, Somehow I think it's easier recover here than waste a whole holiday on our boat looking like DH hit me :-). A friend had hers done in Brussels ( under the eyelid) and to be honest she didn't look that bad post surgery. I was surprised as I thought she would look like she did 2 rounds with Mike Tyson Just slight bruising which she covered. At least you can wear sunglasses here as she had hers done in the winter and wore sunglasses on the flight ( looking like a celeb) ha

Dr Jafar Khan is a specialist in this. You will pay 11000AED here. Brussels is also the place to go for this and I know of 2 people who had both upper and lower done. Results were amazing
