I am copying files on an external hard drive. If I click on the hard drive on g drive, I cannot see any files, seems empty. However, properties show that less space is remaining, and if I copy files again, it says that folder already exists. But double click on g drive doesn't show anything? How can I view the files? Or aren't they copied at all?

Firstly, I don't use PC's much anymore so am hardly an expert.... Assume you have not 'Hidden Files' - go to Control Panel - Appearance - Show Hidden Files - View - Restore Defaults. If that doesn't work then it MAY be a formatting issue on the external drive - right click the drive icon - Properties - General and see what File System it says. Mine is FAT32 which (I believe) allows both PC and Mac to read the files. If it's not FAT32 (NTFS) you could try Formatting the drive. I think you can select NTFS if you only want to use with Windows. If you do format the drive you will lose ALL data on the drive so if there's anything important and/or not replaceable on there you better look at other options! Re-formatting will also (I think) resolve any virus issue which may be causing the trouble. Good luck!

Hi Kermi, I'm no PC expert but are you using a Mac? If so, I would like the answer to your question too
