We would like to camp in Wadi Rum, Jordan. Can anybody recommend a good camping company there that goes to a camp in Wadi Rum please? We would prefer a camp that does not have all night music or belly-dancing.

Many thanks.

I lived in Jordan for awhile and went with a couple different companies. There are a lot which basically set-up an Arabic party scene in the desert. I preferred using this group: Sunset Camp with Mohammed -- cell number is 0799892446 http://www.wadirumsunset.com/index They camp was really nice as was the guide. We did a 4x4 desert tour followed by a night at their camp (had Bedouin tents but we slept out under the stars)-- the evening did not include flood lights and belly dancing-- and then road camels back to town (ouch). I believe they were also capable of offering climbing tours. Have fun!

There are lots of different options for Wadi Rum. I lived in jordan for a couple of years and had friends come through and if I'm remembering right, these were the guys we used. WADI RUM FULL MOON TOURS & CAMP Tyseer & Yaser Mohammed Azalabieh 00962 777 946394 00962 776 926907 tyseer_mohammed@yahoo.com yaser_zalabeh@yahoo.com Whoever you use, I'd just be really specific that you want to camp ALONE and that you don't want the music or any entertainment. There should be no problem to accomodate that. Its usually only these big group ones that do all that nonsense.;)
