Besides Dubizzle, EW classifieds, supermarket boards and car dealers are there other places to buy cars? Auctions or places that have the repo cars?

TIA

If u r looking for auction sites, try http://www.goldenbellauctions.com/default.htm or http://www.emiratescarauction.com/CarOnlineAuction.aspx. They have the cars repossessed by the banks for sale. Emirates car auction site has a comprehensive service report, but you should check all the terms and conditions before you bid. HTH edited by nams_new on 13/05/2011

Head up to the Ajman car market. They have loads of great second hand cars, and it's a lot cheaper than Dubai. They have everything from 7 Series BMW's, yaris, skylines and Ford Mustangs (in fact I looked at one with the hubby, fabulous 99 model for 15,000 dirhams). Just be aware that if you buy a car older than 7 years, you can't get fully comped insurance in Dubai, only 3rd party. But go have a look, if you're a car person, you will have a fantastic time!

Buy a new one....I am a bit of a petrol head and they are a) cheap b) got huge warranty's on them. c) would you want a car that's been driven by a lady from this site or indeed anyone? (trying to find grinny teeth man from bbm) :-)

I think the repossessed cars in Dubai are only available to trade! Also I'd be really cautious buying a car that has sat out in the heat of Dubai summers for perhaps as many as 3 years, the rubber parts might have perished and all sorts of other parts deteriorated in the sandy salty hot climate of this country. If you want to buy second hand try to buy from a garage which can show you the service history etc. or a trustworthy expat who has owned the car from new.
