Hi M Pat is now visiting me sometimes 3 times a day. He came now at 7pm had some food and left. After when I went to check up on him I found the Fat Cat (white and ginger color, smaller in size but very fat) eating from Pat's bowl outside and he seemed so hungry because he didnt care at all that I am standing next to him. I thought before that this fat cat is wearing a collar but he actually isn't wearing but his face is sooo fat so I imagined before that he is wearing one. My bf was just telling me that we cannot have Pat here in the garden all the time, because he keeps showing up and the fact is I love him a lot specially that he now sits on my lap and want me to pet him, actually he sometimes shows up only for me to go out and sit with him and not for food only.. and I am really confused on what to do.. my cats aren't happy either but we should take an action once Pat's owner returns back. He told me that he will be back around 21st so from that date I will stop leaving any kind of food outside and see if he keeps showing up and any case I am going to definitely call the owner to see what's wrong with him and why he left his cat outside like this. The other cat is really toooo fat so it seems that many people are feeding him or his owner feeds him but he still goes outside, this cat doesn't come to the glass door like Pat, the fat cat is only interested in food. Pat wants me and the cats and I really feel sorry for him.

Hi JS and SueB Thanks for your updates, it helps to put some perspective on what is an unfortunate yet annoying situation. Mr Pat has been returning consistently over the last few days. The other night I awoke in the middle of the night to hear my Zara and Pat growling at each other through closed glass doors! This morning Pat was around at about 7am and taunting Zara again. I do feel really sorry for this poor cat and my husband is keen to call the owner to give him a telling off for not putting his cat in proper care whilst he is away. There used to be another smaller cat with a white face that popped around but he/she hasn't visited in a while. I do however often hear cats fighting in the middle of the night so I imagine there are more cats roaming outdoors in our area. Just hope those crazy people that torture or eat cats don't catch them!

Ohhhh Sue, what can I say!! I am totally in love with Mr. Pat but giving him a home is not an option. I even woke up in the middle of night yesterday because I had a feeling that it might rain and where would Mr. Pat sleep? So I left the bed and prepared the cage for him with a bed sheet and left outside, with a bowl of food and some water. I kept outside for him before a fluffy basket to sleep in but I thought maybe he needs one with a cover. I do care about him a lot and honestly I feel very happy when he shows up but cannot have him with me inside. My Siamese is very attached to me and she feels jealous even when she sees me kissing the persian (even if the persian is her best friend) so another addition, is not possible :(

Hi Sue Mr. Pat is now coming for some cuddles and not only food. He showed up this mrng at 6.30 in the garden meowing, he wasn't that much hungry, he was looking actually for some affection and he did these cute things usually Kittens do (curling on the floor, etc..).. I have taken many photos and I will post them here when I return home at night :)

Chez JS is a wonderful cuisine specially when the dry is Royal Canine for Main Coone and Siamese (which my persian siamese mix likes to eat as the kibbles are big and she loves to crunch hard).. anyway Mr. Pat loves Royal canine and he always leaves friskies behind, unless I keep them for long hours so he eats them when he loses hope :) Well thats not why I am here again, I am sick at home today and Mr. Pat just showed up in my garden 12.30pm meowing loudly as usual, i got him some friskies which he didn't like so I added Royal Canine and gobbled it all! I think he came now for attention. I sat on the floor in the garden and Mr. Pat came next to me, laid down, I petted him for more than 10 mns and he was purring :D But oh my God, He is a biiiig biiig boy, the name Tiger suits him more and his yellowish eyes are gorgeous!! I am praying that the owner returns around 21st as he said, I cannot keep him but I will not be able to stop feeding him unless I speak with the owner when he returns and make sure that Pat is back home.

that could be why Pat keeps coming back. The cuisine at Chez JS is much better than what is served at home lol. And I am sure there is a fancy feast smell hovering over your house that is perking all the cats up....you might find once you stop with the FF you might get less cats lol

Thanks SueB, you are sooo right! I started giving fancy feast when Pat started coming twice. I noticed that if I leave fancy and dry outside, Pat won't come early morning but when I dont leave fancy Pat shows up again early morning and thats the time when I let my 2 cats in the garden for 15 mns play before going to work. I thought that dry maybe is not making him full :D Fancy's smell is very strong and cats looove it so tks for the advice. I will switch to dry only.

oh oh js, I think one of the cats has put a sign outside your house that says "great eats"lol. Pull back on the fancy feast girl or you will have cats coming for dinner from miles around. Go and buy some dry food and give them that. It is better for them and for your wallet lol..... do what you can js but dont take the cat world on your shoulders or you will be heartbroken for life :( dry food js, not fancy feast lol

Dear M The Tiger cat and his real name is "Pat" is now a daily visitor!! On weekends when I am home, he comes to my garden around 6pm and during week days I return from work and I find him standing near the window in the parking. He eats a lot!! He meows softly for the siamese and he even put his face on the glass without attacking, however when he sees the Persian, he starts meowing much louder and he attacks! Surprisingly my persian who would usually hide when hearing a strange noise and wouldn't step outside at all, is not feeing afraid at all from whatever he do!! She keeps standing for him and even tries to go out :D which I will never allow he is triple her size but it seems he is into long haired cats :D I am in Street 2 and few days ago, I saw early morning a Whiite and very light brown cat (not with dots like tiger), he has a big round face and is wearing a collar but I can't see any tag. I ran after him with some food but he didn't want really to meet me so I thought that maybe he is just returning to his house. Tonight I left some extra food for "Pat" outside and when I went out again after 30mns I found this white and brown cat on the wall in my garden, I opened a fancy feast can and went to the main door and the cat came and ate it all. He did not come close to me and I didn't insist! He is not like Pat who come and meow in front of you, this one looks more scared of people, do you have any idea about him?? I am so much confused, I really want to help these cats, but I dont want to end feeding all the cats in the area? What's wrong with the owners here? Is it normal to let the cats go outside like this? Wednesday night I saw also a Black longhaired cat (like a Persian) in Spinneys Parking, the cat was running from under car to another and was so afraid, I couldn't catch him!!

Hi M and SueB M, thank you very much for the info! It seems that this naughty boy is choosing houses with female cats :) My 2 females, mix persian and siamese are also small in size so he is too big for them! Anyway I won't allow him to approach them in person or through the garden's door. SueB, I know it is not right but I don't want to call that guy again now, I am going to wait until 21st Jan or so and see if the cat will still be coming to me after that. I don't want to call again because I am already upset from him to leave the cat outside like this but I don't want to fight with him when he is travelling. I will keep enough food for the cat outside as usual and some blanket with basket in case he decided to sleep in a warm place in this weather and I will call his owner after 21st. Maybe the neighbours are feeding him but not enough to make him full. I have to admit the cat looks in perfect shape, no scratch or bite on his skin. Though I felt so sorry for him when I touched him this morning, he allowed me to pet him but he didn't purr :(

No, that is just not right. If you could call him back and find out where he lives and who the neighbours are that would be good. It is possible that the neighbours are not feeding him, that is why he is *catting* around so to speak. If you dont want him to adopt you (is he spayed, did you notice:) THEN try and encourage him to go back to his house. You will of course have to get the neighbours online. I would say the poor boy is hungary for affection :(

Hi JS The tiger cat you mention also visits us, we are in Springs 2, St 6. I didn't used to mind until he started walking up to our screen and attacking our small female Devon Rex which is an indoor cat and probably half the size of the tiger cat. The encounters started getting violent so we started hosing tiger and he hasn't been so bold as to come up to our door for quite a few weeks. What terrible news that the owner leaves him like this, talk about neglect!

Tks Sue, ues I should arrange for a kitty run but I have to postpone it to next month as I spent a lot in December :( Well, the tabby tiger cat was visiting me almost every night. I was leaving some food in the garden at night and in the morning I don't find anything left in the bowl. To my surprise, I returned last night from work and found the cat waiting for me near the front door, he is veryyyyy vocal and he keeps meowing as if he wants to tell me something, anyway I went inside, brought for him wet and dry food and he ate it all. He didn't allow me to catch him last night so I was not able to see the number on his tag. This morning he was waiting in the garden looking at my female cat inside!!! .. anyway I went outside he was as usual meowing.. This time he allowed me to pet him so I took the mobile no. from the tag he is wearing and I called (it was 7.14am dubai time) :) anyway a gentleman spoke to me and he confirmed that it is his cat, however the man is travelling for 6 weeks and he will be back after the 20th of Jan, he said the cat is mostly outdoor so he left him and asked the neighbours to feed him, since I told him that I am feeding the cat for sometime now, he offered to pay for whatever food I spend on the cat. Well I have no problem at all in feeding the poor boy and I won't ask for money, I am just afraid that this cat will love us so much and he might decide to stay here and not to return to his owner when he is back :) There is NO WAY I can make him my cat but also NO WAY I see him waiting for food and not feed him!! Is it normal to leave cats like this outside? He is a very handsome boy and I am sure he is spayed, also the collar he is wearing is a good quality and he has a name!
