Currently have brown wooden Venetian blinds and have just redecorated:) would like to change the blinds to white ones but are concerned that the white will let more light through......the brown blinds when closed still seem to keep the rooms reasonably dark in the morning. Or perhaps white shutters would be better? Any advices? Tia

Shutters definitely as you can filter the light beautifully and if you have them tier on tier you can have the bottom ones shut and upper ones open etc.. They will keep more light out than venetians. There is a UK company I have used who actually manufacture here in Jebel Ali called the new england shutter company. they might be distributed by blinds.ae but worth looking at their website in case you can go direct www.tnesc.co.uk Also remember you can paint them any colour, say off white rather than stark white, whatever you do [u'>do not[/u'> go for mdf, go for basswood or tulip wood or have painted venetian blinds instead as they are cheaper. I am a huge shutter fan and have used hundreds of times! good luck
