Wrongful termination in Dubai
I have a friend who recently emailed his boss to ask for a bonus, but was instead faced with a response to say he was being fired without notice immediately. Only the week before he had discussed expanding his responsibilities!
Does he have any grounds to stand on? He's not so sure if there's been a violation of the labour law?
My understanding is the only reason for immediate firing is gross misconduct, but surely asking for a pay rise doesn't fall into that category here.
Anyone?
