Ok just 6 weeks post my c section and wondering what's safe to do in terms of excercise. So far mainly only done short walks. How long could I go now? 30/40 mins a day? Can I start swimming again even if slowly to start, is there anything else? Some yoga positions? Obviously I don't want to do my self in but like to do something. TIA

Thanks for your reply, this is my 2nd section too. I wish I had a six pack before :) just feeling all wobbly and would like to do something, guess I'll stick with walking for a bit longer see how that goes and a bit of a float around in the pool. Thanks for your advice :)

I have had two c sections and was lucky enough to recover well enough although it did take much longet than 6 weeks. Short walks....not for long, gentle stretches, was about all i could manage 6 weeks post section. Please do not overdo it as long term care is far better and more effective than rushing into it. Having said that, you seem to be doing fine. Just listen to your body...believe me it will tell you. It was always my lower back that gave me the signs first, so i would then sit and rest immediately. If this is your first, then your body is still in shock from the major operation. Place a warm (not hot and heavy) water bottle along the scar and careful not to strain it. It will be fine especially as more weeks go on. Don't be worried about getting your six pack back.....as this will happen especially if you let your stomach muscles ease after the operation. It s more to do with the internal organs more than anything else.Congratulations and take care of yourself. :)
