Hi everyone...I'm currently in my 8th month and i've been seeing Dr. Braithwaide at the American hospital. So far I'm comfortable with her and everything, but has anyone recenly given birth with her. I am having a c-section, and would like to know any experiences with her. Also, how about the Anthesia, was it spinal or general?

Hi, I had my baby boy 4.5mnths ago at the American Hospital and Dr Braithwaite was my gyno! I was going to have a c-section also, not for medical reasons but because I was scared of natural birth. ...
Hi dear, sorry to pop in my query here. I totally agree it’s the midwifes and nurses who you see more while delivery, as I know from my first pregnancy. I am considering American hospital, pls could you give your experience as to how the nursing staff and midwifes are their. I went to Welcare but didn’t find the environment welcoming,it was just too crowded and made me feel more sick.

Hi I am pregnant with twins and my doctor is Dr. Braitwaite. She also delivered my first daughter (vaginally) I had no issues with her. She is straight to the point and agree with the other poster below that you see the midwives ( who were great) a lot more than you see the actual doctor. There is a huge chance I will be having c section with these twins given they are breech at the moment. I am not at all worried about the c section with Dr. Braitwaite, I'm sure she is very good.

The only thing with general I wld think hard about is not being able to see your baby when it's born straight away. Totally ur decision but it's a magical experience :). I was recommended Dr Braithwaite by a lady at my husbands work, she had just said that she was lovely. I wld def go with her again, she is a very experienced doctor :). She does c-sec all the time so I wouldn't worry. Good luck and congrats again :):):)

Thanks mjvdp! must have been hard to have your mind set for a c-section and end up otherwise, anyways good everything went on fine. But from what I know that all dr.s would go only at the time of birth, they wouldn't come and stay by your side :) I just wanted someone who experienced her surgery. As for the spinal, I'm a total freak about that, and I don't think I can ever go for it, I have heard terrible complications about it and can't bear even the though of it. Would you repeat your experience with her again? also, how did u know of her, did any of your freinds for example deliver c-section with her?

Did you find AH great, because I understand that primarily all the staff are English first language speakers?

Hi, I had my baby boy 4.5mnths ago at the American Hospital and Dr Braithwaite was my gyno! I was going to have a c-section also, not for medical reasons but because I was scared of natural birth. She was totally professional and has her own querky sense of humour. After going into labour a week before my scheduled csection and having experiencing the contractions for a few hrs I had a 'I am woman hear my roar' moment and had him naturally. If I was going to have csection is was to be spinal (I don't think they do general unless there is a serious reason for it). The spinal doesn't hurt just a bit uncomfortable for a few seconds. She was totally great throughout the birth but to be honest you see the mdwives more than u will see her as she is there for the business and mdwives are there for all the fluffing so to speak. I am more than happy to answer any other questions about birth, hospital etc :)
