Hey guys thinking of going for a 3d/4d scan any tips and idea about where i can get it and what would be the ideal weeks to go for it , thinking of this for reason of identifying gender as well as for identifying any other concerns if any.

the radiologist told me the gender at a scan at 15 weeks (2D) it is easier to be sure if it is a boy and they don't like to tell you unless they are 100%. believe me they can never be 100 % and yes they do tell u if they think it ,might be a certain s3x...

Congrats on ur pgcy! Love pgcy news and cute baby additions! I did it for my first baby at 26 weeks and it was really nice. Gender confirmation too. dr told us the gender at 13weeks for my sons with u/s Wow how lucky of you to have known, my doc jus ddnt bother though i did inquire if she can make out in the 13 week scan , but she jus bluntly said no , anyhow will think abt it as im still a bit early on for it i guess <em>edited by Enigma1979 on 13/06/2011</em>

I've done 4D twice, correctly informed that i am having a boy then a girl. I know that it is better be done between the 26-28 weeks, the image will be clear.

Much better to wait normally ull hospital can just flip a switch and it goes to 3d 4d i had it sone 2 years ago at AH, but the baby wasnt behaving and not in the right position....we ll get it done again on my 30 week scan hopefully in august.

we had 3D at our 20 week scan and to be honest it freaked us out as the baby looks really monstrous at that stage, ti looked like he had a horn growing out of his head and we worried about it until he was born (thankfully without a horn ;) ) I think they recommend them at around 30 weeks if you wan to look at your baby's face. You don't really need a 3d for identifying gender a 2D scan will show that.
