Hi - I've suffered from hyperthyroidism for about six years. My levels were stable before I fell pregnant. I was ok until I reached the third trimester and my TS3 and TS4 count showed as quite low so I have simply changed my dosage of thyroxine. Specialist will tell you what to keep an eye on during pregnancy. In fact, my endocrinologist happens to be pregnant so it's kind of nice knowing she knows what I am going through and it has been re-assuring. Like KarenBlixen, I have also had to increase my iron intake. good luck!

Hi mrsjbr Yes I have a history of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and my condition got worse when I was pg with dd2. It's quite easy to treat - you will probably be prescribed thyroxine tablets. I have been taking them for 13 years, and just increased my dosage when pg. I found that I felt *much* better once I did this. Sometimes the condition goes hand in hand with anaemia, so I started taking iron tablets which helped too. Congrats on your pg and don't worry xx

Hello ladies, my fonts of all knowledge! I've just had a call from my doc to tell me that my thyroid levels which were tested on Saturday have come back as extremely low (normal is apparently 2.0, I'm clocking in at a meagre 0.6). I'm being referred to a specialist tomorrow but I was just wondering if any of you have been in the same boat, and what your experiences and outcomes where? (Doc did say it can happen when you suffer badly from morning sickness which I most certainly have). I'm nearly 11 weeks so was hoping to be nearing the end of the first trimester worry! Thanks in advance xx
