I went in for a check 1 week before due date and they said I got preclampsia and induced me the next morning. I didnt notice anything different towards the end of the pregnancy and felt the same so lucky I went in and got my blood pressure checked
No, I wasn't working, I'm a stay at home mum. DD was born at 39 weeks. I stopped taking aspirin in my third trimester, don't remember when exactly...One piece of advise, do not do too much research on the subject on the internet. I used to get really worried and depressed while doing that!
(My mum had preeclampsia while pregnant with me, but did not get it for my younger sister! That's another example!)
Thanks Frenchy- Im feeling a lot more positive.. :) Did you work through your pregnancy....? Did you go full term- 40 weeks without trouble during your third? Were you asked to take asprin right till the end? Im Sorry i have so many questions since i finally know first hand that this condition does not necessarily repeat.!!
I saw Dr. Rehab Awad, she is in Mitera clinic in DHCC. I was also on aspirin from the start of the pregnancy. I know it is difficult not to think about it but try...Eat well, take your prenatal vitamins, do some gentle exercise every day, take your aspirin and enjoy your pregnancy:)
Thanks Frenchy...any advice on precautions i should take? which doctor did u see for the third one? Mine said i have an increased risk in the condition repeating. First time around i had high BP but no protien in the urine...Im on asprin this time right from the first gyn visit.
Your reply was very encouraging...thanks so much!
I had preeclampsia (Hellp syndrome) when I had my son. He was my second child. Nothing with my first! and didn't get it for my third! The doctors told me I had 20% chance to get it again. So be positive! All the best!
thanks Kitty, Yes the first thing the doc told me is that we have to try and get to 36 weeks.... :( i really hope i can hold on till then! getting stressed about the thought already!
I haven't been affected by it, but those I know of have been second time around too. My good friend's sister managed to get to 36+ weeks with twins and preemclampsia, which is really good, although the last 2 weeks were at hospital.
