Hi Aussie Ladies
How long did the passport application process take for your bub? We're due to travel when our baby will be 2 months of age.
TIA!

Last Oct it took 3 weeks for the citizenship cert. You should be fine but send off the Birth certificate asap!

Just make sure you make appointments for both your citizenship and passport applications. Speak with the passport ladies and they will be very helpful with sorting timeline's for this as you need your citizenship processed (and cirtificate issued) prior to your passport application interview.

For memory it was 3-4 weeks including getting the citizenship as missau80 has said. I found it all very quick, but that could have been because DH did the trips to the consulate so I didn't have to worry about that bit :D

Hi there We first had to apply for citizenship by descent, which took around 2 weeks - tops. Then, once we had that certificate, we applied for the passport, which again was around 2 weeks. They did ask if we had upcoming travel plans, which we didn't, so possibly they can speed things up if need be. You will need to make an appointment at the Consulate though. I don't think you can just turn up. And getting the passport photo of a new born correct was a bit of a challenge - looking straight ahead at camera, etc. I hope that helps. :)
