Quick question, if DD was born in UAE, do I need to have her birth certificate attested by Aust Embassy before Dept Of Foreign Affairs or do I go straight to DOFA as it's a local certificate?

Not sure about Aus embassy, but you will need to attest the English version of UAE birth certificate (you should 2 - English and Arabic) at DOFA. It's quick procedure
