Breastfeeding help please....
For the last week I have been really struggling with breastfeeding. I noticed my left breast was really hard and very painful, so I guessed it might have been a blocked duct. I did the usual-massage, feeding frequently from the blocked side and even pumping. The hardness went away after few days. Now I have noticed I have a white spot on my nipple. It almost looks like a blister with milk trapped inside. I don't know how to describe it.
Anyway now when I feed the pain is breath taking. honestly I sit there panting because it hurts so much. And when I'm not feeding, I get a sharp pain from the spot to the back of the breast(like someone has stuck a hot needle through my breast) I have made an app with Dr Dalphine, but she can only see me on Wednesday.
I don't know if I can last that long. Should I stop breastfeeding and give formula instead or just carry on gritting my teeth through the pain. Honestly im not enjoying it at the moment. When it comes to feeding her from hte sore side, I get all tense, it does not help either that DD can sense I'm tense so she ends up crying.
Also another issue that has sprung up is biting. She now has 2 bottom teeth and takes a nibble every so often! it hurts!!! she is 6 months old, so is there a way to get her to stop or make her understand biting is not good. might be a silly question but I am loosing the battle here and bottles are looking real tempting.....
Ps the right breast is ok, no issues there
