Hi ladies,

I was making up some feeds last night using the 9oz Avent blue bottles. As I measured 120ml across three bottles I noticed with horror that the water levels were different for each bottle. That means the measurements up the side of the bottle are NOT accurate and since this is very important for formula feeds, I thought I'd mention let you all know. Has anyone else noticed this as well? I called the Avent helpline here today and have not heard back from them yet (I shall no doubt have to chase them up tomorrow) and they said it's the first time anyone's reported this. So I'm asking you ladies to check your bottles and call 800 28368 to report any problems too....

Best of luck! P

Just to let you all know that Avent kindly replaced all of my bottles and they seem to be much better on the measurements front (plus the collars fit better too for some reason). So if you are concerned, do give them a ring and they will help you - the number's at the bottom of this thread. I spoke to a really nice lady called Theresa. Good luck!

Hi again all - I've now sent through pictures (as they requested) to the Avent people and am waiting to hear back from them. No doubt I shall have to chase them up again at some point but rest assured I will and then of course I'll let you all know the outcome. In the mean time I'm relying on a small measuring cup - it's a pain but at least am now being consistent!

I have Dr Brown bottles and Avent bottles too. I also recently noticed that the measurements in the two bottles are different. Since LO is already older I didn't bother but for small babies it's definitely important to get the measurements right.

Yes! I have an Avent bottle that is 10ml different to the rest. I have noticed this for a long while so whenever I used that particular bottle I would compensate for the difference. Will call the number when we return from holidays. Not very good!

Oh dear. What a big mistake for them to make. Let us know how you get on. Still BF and I'm using Dr Browns bottles, just checked them and they are fine. Something I'm sure most mums wouldn't even dream of checking so it's good that you have brought this up.

Hi SS - I've checked them all as well as switched one lot of the same measurement to another bottle and they're definitely not right. I'm going to call them back this morning at Avent... will let you know.

Check whether all the bottles are the same shape. I've just looked at all mine and they're all different shapes some are wider and shorter and some are taller and thinner yet they're all 9oz ones.
