Hello ladies,

I have ttc for almost 6 months now. I have hypothyroid and possibly pcos. I haven't been seeing a doctor, we've just been passively trying.

I think it is time to be a bit more proactive; especially considering my thyroid and pcos. I'm very paranoid about finding a doctor who will give me wrong advise or not understand my conditions.

Can anyone recommend a really good doctor in Dubai who understands thyroid, pcos and pregnancy?

Two years ago I am under treatment with pankaj. He did two iui but both failed then we moved in Saudi Arabia. Last month we met three doctors of UAE ( pankaj, fakih, firoza) . And finally we are going with fakih. Let's see what happen. God fulfill our baby dreams. Are you going with pankaj? Because doctor muneera is with him. Are you any diet and experice? Best of luck

Interesting..... I have not been recommended glucophage. But perhaps because my insulin levels are ok? But I am reading online about it now and seems its quite important to take to balance sugar levels so I would be inclined to keep taking it for sure. Are you going with Fakih or Pankaj?

I am also fighting with pcos with high insulin. I am with fakih and planning for Ivf in September. Doctor fakih did not keep me any madication. I am worrying for my high insulin. Hilsbils ! I want to ask you that doctor munira recommend you glocophage? Are you taking before Ivf ? My two doctor ( pankaj and firoza ) recommend me glocophage (before and after ivf )after seeing my blood report. But fakih said its ok. No need any madicine. I am very confused .

Hey babs. I have both and also trying for some time. We will start IVF next month. Now I was amazed to hear from Dr Fakih that he thought pcos in older clients was a plus as he had more follicles to work with! He also waved his hand and said "oh everyone woman here has some form of pcos" But when I went to my doctor / gynae/ fertility specialist (Dr Munira in Dubai Mall medical centre - very very good) she said fertility is affected by 4 main things : Thyroid, Insulin levels, age of woman (ie eggs supply etc) and Sperm quality. Dont underestimate your hubbys sperm test. Its easily done in many clinics and you can get results on the same day. Be sure to have abstinence for 3-5 days as older sperm starts to die off and slower swimmers as a result. But if your tubes etc are all fine, then its the other 3 factors which count. My thyroid needs to be stablised before we do IVf so I am on thyroxine tablets until then. Hypothyroidism needs lifetime treatment and vigilance. I recommend a full check up. Ask the doctor to run an AMH test which determines your real fertility age - by determining how many eggs you have left. Mine was very low and im 40 so hence the IVF Best of luck!!
