I had Dr for my 2nd and wouldn't recommend her. Was left pushing for 3 hours as she attended a c section of a patient that wasn't hers as my epidural wore off. Only showed When midwives begged her as I went from 3cm to 10 cm in 15 mins. If that wasn't bad enough, after 3 days of asking for a laxative ( am lactose intolerant so cant buy the regular) I ended up with an impacted bowel and was denied an enema for 6 hours before she wrote the prescription. When she came to see me after the birth around 6 am, snapped on the lights, started talking before I even came to and then rushed out the door again. When I had the impacted bowel and was sobbing/ screaming on the bathroom floor left the room and asked a nurse to give me sips of warm water. I have no doubt that she is an excellent Dr but her bedside manner is appalling!

I had Dr Braithwait for the last 6 appointments then on the delivery night i asked for another doctor and was very lucky to have Dr Raj, i'm with her currently for second pregnancy. She was very patient and didn't rush me into C-S although nearly needed one. AH labour and maternity wards are very good; you'll be well looked after. Wishing you all the best x edited by Swissroll on 05/01/2013 Thanks Swissroll. May I ask why you asked for another doctor on your delivery night? Leaning towards Dr Braithwait, and was curious.

I highly recommend Dr. Raj. This is my 3rd pregnancy,last two were natural and planning on this to be as well. Good Luck! Just call up and get an apt with her and see if you like her.

So after some very helpful ladies posted about the possibility of Insurers not renewing contracts with City Hospital, I call the insurance and they confirmed that so far, members are covered up until the 31st Jan - I'm due to give birth on the 2nd Feb!!! It's infuriating that they weren't even going to notify me of this until the end of January! Anyway, Ive been seeing Dr Elsa and been very happy with her and now desperately need to find a new doctor at American Hospital. Can anyone recommend someone who is pro-natural? Ive seen (a bit dated though) a few good reviews about Dr Braithwaite, anyone else?
