How do you administer Losec?

Hi Ladies
I am starting DD on Losec today as after 7 weeks of reflux, although DD has shown signs of improvement on Motillium and Zantac, she is still unhappy during most of her feeds. She is currently taking 2ml of Motillium 4 times a day and 1ml of Zantac 3 times a day.
For those using the tablet form of Losec, any tips on its administration? DD is required to take 10ml per day which is half a tablet. I read online that it's easier to administer if you put the half tablet in a syringe, mix it slowly with water and give it to your LO in between meals.
Her paed advised to gradually cut back on the Motillium by one dose per week over the next 4 weeks. Presently she is taking Motillium 15 mins before her feeds.

I used a 10 ml syringe with a really big opening. I would put half a tablet in and then add 3 to 4 ml water, wait for it to dissolve then shake vigorously and quickly squirt a small amount into LO's mouth. Repeat until finished. Then check the syringe to see if there were any granules left over, if so then I would add another 1 to 2 ml water and repeat. Check again and repeat. I normally managed to administer all the granules by the third attempt. Also, you need to be aware that Losec only works on an empty stomach, so should basically be administered at least an hour and a half after the last feed and at least half an hour before the next. this is the best way yes...been doing this for months....although i switch between losec and zantac as losec actually seems to stop working after a while, which my pead warned me about...i have been struggling with reflux with my DS since 4 weeks old...he is now 9 months lol......i been there done that so if u have ANY questions or just want to chat....feel welcome...it has been a hectic ride but it is so much better now....he is now a happy trooper! btw u also get a new type of losec , it comes in a sachet, and it forms a gel, it is great...not sure if u get it here but the name is Nexiam 10 ml, it has the same active ingredient than losec: esomeprazole. It is manufactured by AstraZeneca. I got mine in South Africa but ask ur pead...it is super easy to give, as the gel actually helps that the granules do not stick to the syrings or spoon, so u dont have so much hassle. If you want, I can give you one of my sachets to try. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!1

After a lot of experimenting I decided the easiest way was to dissolve it and just use a little spoon to put it in my sons mouth. Dont crush the losec, as my previous doctor said I should do, coz that will destroy the active ingredient crystals. It dissolves quite quickly, so you can do it on the spoon. When I used a syringe, even the biggest one, I found a lot of the crystals stayed behind. You can see that if you leave them stand for a little while they will turn red, thats how I found out when I tried to put it in his bottle and I forgot to wash it straight away.
