My DS is now 8 1/2 months ( where does the time go?) He currently drinks between 600-700mls of milk each day and lots of water ( between 400- 600ml) He is also having 3 meals a day. He is an active one- so different from his siblings!! I hope you and the girls are well.xx *editing to say it should read between 200-400ml of water...oops!* edited by sgilli3 on 05/10/2011

My son takes quite alot still - 24oz aswell as 3 meals a day. He is wanting to drop a bottle I think at the minute, perhaps at this age they just don't want the milk as much anymore. I told the Hv all this recently when back in the Uk and she said he would be perfectly fine to drop 1 - even 2 as long as solids where still going well and he had pleanty of fluid! He was also weighed and was 21lb14oz and Hv was very happy! so to the prev poster who mentioned her lo weight - I think 10kg is fine ;)

My DD is also 9 months and a complete nightmare with milk intake , all of a sudden she has dropped daytime feeds and seems happy enough with her solids , at most she takes 400ml a day too. i spoke with her doctor and he said that she was perfectly healthy as i am giving other dairy products and it may just be a phase

Lemondrops, DS is 9 months and also has around 450-500 ml milk a day. He is established on solids and happily has his three meals on most days. I don't given him juices but he has a few sips of water in the day. He is quite active and weighs around 10kgs - I'm not sure if his milk intake is sufficient so will be watching this thread as I've have wondered the same thing especially because lately he has been reducing his morning milk intake quite drastically.

I BF so no idea but I think its on the low side, but not terribly so, it would depend a lot on the size of your baby, how active they are, how many calories they get from solids etc. Giving more liquidy foods (watermelon for example) can be a good way to get more fluid in without her having to drink it if you are worried.

Just want to know if this is too off.... DD drinks at most 400 ml of milk a day... we compensate with lots of yoghurt and cheese, but she doesn't drink much other fluids... a sip of water here and there... she doesn't appear dehydrated... but was wondering what the "norm" was if there is any such thing... TIA
