Just thought I'd let you ladies know.... especially those with babes under a year. Several days ago I got hit with a high fever. No big deal really. Then LO got a high one. Nothing over 101 and was able to get it down with calpol. Then on Friday both of us broke out all over... small red dots. I'm thinking measles which is weird since I had it when I was little and am immune to it and chicken pox. Of course DS hadn't hit his year vaccination yet. Went to city hospital and was told it wasn't measles but part of the virus that caused the fever. My rash is almost completely gone now but poor DS still has it. Had to go back to straight formula as he was getting sick anytime he ate solids. A friend from home had the same thing happen to her DD two weeks ago and the dr back home called it 'baby measles' or roseola.... basically a high fever followed by a rash all over the body. Of course since its a virus nothing can be done except to keep them comfortable. Rash is suppose to go after a few days. Just wanted to give you all the heads up in case you notice your LO with the same symptoms.
