Hi ladies
Thank you so much for your replies! It's so hard to decide, cos once I've paid for the delivery package at 12 weeks, I can't change hospitals.
I did not know About Latifa, thnx for that, I'll give them a call tomorrow. City does cost a fortune, about 33 000 AED for twins and c-section (which it would most possibly be), but I've only heard good things about it.....
@little_zuzu, thanks for the tip re nicu at Medcare, will defo check that on Tues.
These are the days you miss home, hey, where you know what is what and where to go ;)
@ladybird : with twins I guess there's always a risk of preterm delivery, you may have to check if Medcare has an equipped nicu.as far as am aware, they take babies only 32 weeks onwards. Latifa, city etc. take the babies much earlier. If you are looking for a package, it'll be sensible to register at Latifa , and see a private OB Gyn for check ups.
Hi,
I have just delivered my LO there and am waiting to be discharged tomorrow morning. The hospital is fine, the staff have been very friendly and helpful. During the delivery there were plenty of staff who were supportive but I did miss having the midwife experience I had when delivering my eldest in the UK. My Dr was from the Cooper Clinic not Medcare and I was very impressed with her.
We were ready to leave a few hours after the birth but I have to stay for 24hrs for my DD to have her jabs and be monitored. It is very frustrating as I have a 15 month as well who I want to be with too. The hospital does get busy at night and you need to ask for people to stop coming into your room or you get no rest.
However, I had a very good natural birth and would not hesitate to come back again. Good Luck!!
Congratulations on your pregnancy . And twins too? Wow!
I had both my children at Medcare and the first experience wasn't great, but when I fell pregnant again, I thought "better the devil you know etc" so went back. I totally regret it! The after care was terrible & I could not wait to get home. I had csections both times btw. I am 100% NOT going back there with number 3...
I know every experience is different but having spoken to a few people lately about Medcare, it seems as if they have gone really downhill. On the flip side, every single person I know who delivered at City said it was great.
Do a search on here for both hospitals as ere are a number of posts about both
HTH & good luck!
Hi
I'm 6 weeks pregnant with twins and unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover maternity, so we need to take out a maternity package. I have an appointment with City hospital at 5 weeks to see what they're like, but wasn't too happy with the doc and their packages are very expensive as I'll probably need a C-section because I'm having twins. So I done a bit more research and came accross Medcare and saw that they are about 6800 AED cheaper, which makes a huge diffirence, so I'm seeing a doc there next week, Dr Luthra.
Does anyone have any comment on Medcare on what your experience was with them? Or if you have any other suggestions? Of course if we can make a saving and still have a good experience it will be great, but I dont' want to put my babies at risk for the sake of saving a few dirhams.......
