Hey DB Just wanted to let you know I had my NT scans and tests yesterday. Everything is looking good which is a huge relief. HOWEVER, got a bit of a shock when I was told Alico doesn't cover the NT scan or the Papp-A test! Sounds like you had a lucky escape moving insurance companies! Makes you wonder what exactly they do cover. The 12 week checks are standard you'd think! Makes you think what else they might not cover. You're so lucky to have unlimited antenatal coverage, even if the coverage you have for delivery might not quite be enough. Anyway, just wanted to give you a quick update. Hope you're feeling well.

Hi. Thanks for the info. V. interesting. I'm with Alico and my standard maternity coverage is 20k. Its all on a direct billing basis, which although is hassle free and means I haven't actually paid for a thing myself, I also feel it means I'm losing track of what's been spent so far on my insurance. However so far everything is going swimmingly. Just eagerly awaiting the NT scan in a couple of weeks. I know the standard cost for normal delivery at City is 11.5, an extra 2.5 for an epidural if needed, which leaves 6k. And I got a list of the full run of antenatal appts from Healthbay which ran up to around 13k (including the early ones I had). Clearly more than I bargained for. And that's not including any antenatal classes etc. which I get I will have to pay extra for. I don't mind that, its just whether I'm having appointments unnecessarily so the healthcare providers can make a little extra cash. And it does kind of worry me that this is all based on normal and healthy outcomes. Any other outcome and it could wipe out our savings. Obviously trying not to think about that but still, you feel like you need to be prepared you know? Still, thanks so much for the information. Its good to get some comparisons. So you've just got the last trimester to go! How exciting. It'll be nice to go through this stage (and the first few months with new bubs) while the weather is fairer. Hope everything keeps going well for you.
