Read the instructions but from what I remember you need to rinse them. I think I just rinsed in normal water

I think the point of sterilising is really to kill any bacteria from the old milk as this can be dangerous, once that is done its no big deal if you touch the bottles, rinse them off in regular water etc, no different to your baby sucking their toys or hands. It's not like breastfeeding mums are sterilising their boobs before a feed.

Hi Shellly, Did anyone ever respond to your question re rinsing bottles after using Milton sterilising tablets? I'm planning to use them when we travel at the end of the month but just not sure how much to rinse. Thanks, DebsDebs Hi DebsDebs, I used them a few months ago and never rinsed them off and all was fine. From memory I don't think they need to be rinsed off - I may have read that on the packet that they can be used immediately after removing them from the sterilized water, I just cannot remember now (?). And I just used them a few days ago when we were away, and this time I did choose to rinse them off. Not sure why I changed but all was fine this time too. Haha sorry, I've probably confused you even more now! Not sure what I'll do in the Maldives as not sure about the quality of the tap water?

I personally would rinse off with boiling water because of chemicals and also the taste. Although i don't know if this affects how sterile the bottles remain which is actually the answer you are looking for!! So sorry that's not much help! edited by waterbaby on 17/08/2011

Sorry to hijack thread - I will be using Milton Tabs in the next few days and I want to ask, once the bottles etc have finished soaking in the solution, do you have to rinse it off with boiled water so the baby doesn't consume or come into contact with it? Or once you shake it out after soaking does it need to be rinsed off at all? TIA
