Moses basket - safe to use?

I bought a moses basket from Babyshop recently, but I'm sure I read somewhere that all moses baskets, cribs etc should have some sort of declaration to say they meet European Standards etc. I've just checked the basket I have and I can't see that it meets any "Standards", and now I'm worried it's probably not safe and could be a bit risky to use? I would have thought that anything sold by Babyshop would be safe, but maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks tanya80. I should have bought one from Mothercare or Mamas and Papas - just trust their stuff more, but I went ahead and bought this one from Babyshop :(

I used a moses basket from mothercare for the first 3 months, used a fitted sheet and thats it! Found it extremely useful.

Thanks Ladies. We'll definitely be removing all the bits and pieces that came with it like the quilt and pillow. I can't understand why moses baskets come with these things if they are unsafe to use.

Personally I think any moses basket with a quilted lining is unsafe, we took ours out. Aside from that I don't think their is much difference between brands, I have a recollection that ours did say something about EU standards (from mamas and papas) but it looks the same as any other. Once they are rolling I think they are much safer to be in a cot.

We used one for mothercare for the first month and a half, two months, now baby is too big and sleeps in a cot from Ikea, honestly I trusted the shop, I did not think of checking the standards (besides I would have gone for the EU ones which are not easy to meet here), anyway the baby did not care at all and slept very well. Only thing, she always sleeps in a warm pijama with no blankets or pillows or anything at all.
