Hello Ladies

My LO is excusively BF only, so our Pead Dr. recommended PediaVit Select,my LO is now 5 months. But lately the LO has been having issues with constipation, im guessing its cuz of the Iron in the Multivit is the cause. So ive stopped giving the syrup two days back.

Experienced Mums out there I just wanted your exp about this. Im a new mum, so I have no idea what to do. I plan to go ring the Doc and ask her as well.

Yeah.. I completely agree wid ye ladies, I found it a bit odd as well when she told me that he shoud take it. Im gonna have to see some other Dr. now. Thanks a ton ladies, now I know im not the only one who was thinkin like this.

Unless there is some other reason why the Dr prescribed Multivit, it is odd for an otherwise healthy baby, probably a good idea to ask the Dr to explain why and if not convinced try a different Dr. DD was formula fed from 3 months and the Dr told me that as long as she was having 1lt of milk a day she didn't need Vit D, however generally they do recommed Vit D to ensure there is enough in their diets so they will not risk having fragile bones and possibly break/fracture once they start walking and falling down.

Agree completely with Beany. If your baby is BF, she shouldn't need anything else except in cases of underlying disorders, and probably not even then. I'd seek a second opinion.
