Hi Ladies,

Hope your all well,

I was hoping for some advice, I recently got married and moved to Dubai in November, within 10 days I found out I was pregnant. Lol. Although we are both very excited, it has interrupted my plans. My husband has been here for four years and is very much settled in a job. My plan was to come out and look for a job or set up my salon from home. However This is my first pregnancy and I do not want to put any stress on the baby, especially as I am so new to the area.

We live on the palm, and it is very quiet here, our apartment has both pool and a gym facilities. However the pool is kept very very cold for training purposes and I use to go to the gym but I started getting very bad cramps and have not been back since. I now exercise on the Wii.

I don't know anyone in Dubai atall and it does get very lonely from time to time. Luckily my husband comes back for lunch to break up my day. I tried going to the malls and felt very dizzy, i panicked as i thought i was going to faint and rushed home. I am now only 13 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if there things to do that would not be harmful to me or my baby?

Advice will be very much appreciated.

Kiran :)

Hi KiranB Just wanted to say that I know how you're feeling. We moved out here last June and I am now pregnant with our first, due in August :) I don't have insurance either so I've been trying to get my head around all the options, leaning towards Latifa (Al Wasl) at this stage but not 100% sure. Going home to deliver is not an option since we are originally from Oz! I have been a "house-wife" since moving to Dubai and it can get lonely, especially when you're new and don't know many people. If you ever want to meet up for a coffee or a chat I'd be happy to come and meet you somewhere (on the Palm if you're nervous about travelling) - I live in the Marina so I'm not far away at all. If you're interested let me know and I'll post my email address. Best Wishes Hi Wannabashc, Thanks for your advice, coffee mornings do sound good. I will definitely look into it. Just need to get over my fear of leaving the apartment by myself. I'm trying hard to live a normal life, its not difficult but i can feel my body changing very quickly. Had my 2nd scan yesterday and the baby is only 8cm...grew by 2cm in 10 days. Honestly felt amazing. The dizziness come along side the headaches I'm getting. Dr put the headaches down to stress and I guess that's because I don't have medical insurance and were thinking of flying back to London for the delivery. Its so expensive without insurance :( :)

Hi Kiran, Congratulations! Why not go to a coffee morning and meet other mums and mums to be. The EW coffee mornings are held in different locations. Nothing you do day today will harm your baby. Don't worry! Live a normal life :) Hydrate and eat well and ask your doctor about your dizzy spells. Good luck!
