Help - I'm 7 weeks pp thought I'd stopped bleeding but I've been spotting for the past 2 days and it seems to be getting a little bit heavier. How do I know if this is period or still pp bleeding? And I am ebfing - will this affect my milk supply? Pls advise :(((

I don't mind my period back providing it doesn't affect my feeding/him? But yes, I guess it's because his feeds have become spaced out? And he feeds once between 11 and 7 :s

Wow 7 weeks is early to exercise, I still haven't started ;-) could be why the bleeding is back, otherwise if you have spaced feeds to 4 hours a day and 6 at night it could be your period. Mine came back just as bubs started sleeping 7 hours straight at night (though she is now sleeping a max of 3 :-/ )... Oh how they change! I think very light exercise is okay just do as much as you feel comfy with. Tip to you- if it is not your period, and you don't want it back, feed as much as possible!!! I thought it was great that bubs was sleeping a long shift at night until I got my period :-/

Take it easy. PP bleeding can come back if you are not resting enough. My period returned 12 weeks PP and I felt it affected my milk the first time and got very worried but I am still breastfeeding at 8 months.

Shouldn't affect breastfeeding either way. With my first baby I stopped bleeding for 4 weeks then suddenly bled again, didn't get my period back until my baby was 12 months, women really vary with that. So long as you breastfeed on demand your supply should keep up with your baby. I don't know if this is just me but with my pp bleeding I don't have any cramps, vs my period where I am crampy, retain water etc, this might give you a clue which one it is if you are the same?

Stupid question but how do I know/ how can I tell? I don't think you can, you'll have to wait and see till next month! whether it's your period or not, it shouldn't affect breastfeeding. I would see your ob if the bleeding gets very heavy or smelly/lots of clots just in case there could be an infection. congratulations on your new baby!

I got my period about that time after both babies (maybe a little later with first). And I believed that it would be months before I did if I was breastfeeding! It did nothing at all to supply, that I could tell anyway. I had read that babies can go off the milk at that time because the taste changes a bit apparently. But I didn't find that at all in my case.
