Has anyone bought one/used one? Can anyone recommend a certain one or somewhere that sells them?
This is 3rd baby so maybe a bit late for this but I was thinking my tummy and uterus probably need all the help they can get! Hahaha!

I had been recommended against buying a girdle but someone suggested getting some tubular bandage and wearing that - it is not as restrictive but might give the feeling of a bit of support (which is all i am wanting it for). So have found some, bought a metre and will see if it helps once bubs arrives. Will post here if it is useful or not in the next few weeks. Only cost me AED10 so not holding out much hope - lol.

Hi, I'm not sure if you've come across SRC recovery shorts? It's an Australian brand and comes highly recommended by friends from there. It's recommended by obstetricians. I'm quite keen to try it but they don't deliver to Dubai :( anyone knows abt this and if it's available at any pharmacies in Dubai?

Thanks Kelly and thanks ladies. I am going to give it a miss. I have a few gynae issues already so I don't want to make things worse!

interesting mix of responses, i have the one below, not used it yet but keen to try anything that might help (i was advised that it is fine.) having tried it on, it isn't massively comfy but let's see. lots of uk friends have had them and swear by them. in india, someone comes round to bind you a few days after birth - same principle... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0002UCES4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I gave birth to my youngest a few years ago in NY at a top University hospital and was told NOT to use these after my c-section by 3 different Doctors there and the nurse staff. Apparently it weakens some of the muscles amoung other reasons

I bought a medical-type abdominal belt for post-delivery and also hardly wore it. Was uncomfortable and bulky under clothes. Physio at the hospital also advised against it. You're welcome to have mine if you want to try it out.

Hi johjoh, I'm a physio and although I don't work on the maternity ward I do know that girdles aren't recommended postpartum. They can actually hamper the recovery of your abdominal muscles.
