True. Govt hospitals do not schedule appointments on weekends. I am registered in Latifa hosp and have to go only on weekdays.

Hi MNadir! I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you'd be able to schedule check-ups at the government clinic or at Latifa on Saturdays.

I will go and check with Latifa and if it doesnt work I will register with Corniche. The problem is its very difficult for me to get out of work and go for my check ups so I prefer scheduling them on sat hence registering in dubai makes alot more sense. Lets see how it goes. Thanks for responses ladies :)

Hi AnonDubai is right. As Baraha is run by the Ministry of Health (federal UAE-wide network), I don't think you need a Dubai visa to be eligible for care there. But... if your OB has suggested you register at Latifa in case of premature delivery, this is because they have a very specialised neo-natal intensive care unit (nicu). I'm not sure Baraha has such facilities. Not sure how feasible this is, but if I was in your position I think I would register with Corniche hospital in AD. It has a fantastic reputation, similar to Latifa's, and specialises in high risk pregnancies. If you can get there reasonably fast, and if it's realistic for you to have ante-natal check-ups there, I would go there. Good luck x

Have you tried Baraha Hospital? It is part of the Ministry of Health so you may have better luck there.

Can someone pls advice me on this: I am registered with a private doc who delivers in American Hospital but suggested that I open a file at Latifa or Dubai Hospital just in case i have a premature. I am due in Apr 2012. Latifa is asking for a healthcard. I live in dubai but my resident visa is from abu dhabi. And apparently I cant get a healthcard to register at Latifa due to my resident visa from abu dhabi. Has anyone faced a similar situation? Can someone pls advice what should i do? Thanks alot.
