I cant remember anything from my first baby. When giving cereals like Ready Brek and Weetabix do you mix with formula or cows milk? I am getting really mixed answers when I look online.
Thanks :)

Under ones can have cows milk and other dairy products (cheese, yoghurt etc) from 6 months but not as their main food source (i.e don't give it to them in a bottle). Basically cows milk has a lot more protein, lacks certain nutrients and has higher levels of things like sodium so too much is not a good idea. Cows milk/dairy products also blocks iron absorption which is why formula has so much iron added. Cows milk sold in supermarkets is pasteurised so not raw and doesn't need to be cooked any further to make it more digestible, its really just about not overloading kidneys with too much sodium etc (fyi check the sodium levels on any adult cereals you are giving. As a breastfeeding mum, I don't have formula on hand, so I have always used full fat cows milk in cooking or to add to any cereals (although personally I didn't really give cereals that young). If you are already formula feeding then you may as well use formula instead.

Depends on the age of your child. Under 1 should not have cows milk.

for cereals i use formula but for cooking i use cow's milk. i understand babies under 1 yr find it difficult to digest raw cow's milk and it's not recommended for them.

Hi, You can do either. If your baby is use to formula, mix that in if not use cows milk. I would also say if you're not giving your baby any vitamins then give formula as this will contain some. Basically it is fine to do either :-) Good luck
