Hi there, I need a pushchair to transit through Frankfurt in July with a 10 month old and I will be 6 months pregnant...I don't think they offer pushchairs like emirates? Does anyone know? So I have been told the only one you can take on as hand luggage is the quinny zapp, the non recliner...can anyone confirm this? And does anyone know where I can buy one in Dubai or Qatar?...or even better anyone know anyone who is selling a second hand one? I looked on Dubizzle and there were two but they didn't reply to emails. Many thanks!

Yes, the Zia fits in the hatrack. It's only a tiny bit wider folded than our Zapp. PS mich25 you actually made me LOL. Sorry, but with dozens of children and infants onboard some flights, and one cupboard the size of your average wardrobe. Where do you suggest the crew put over 50 strollers if everyone shows up with their buzz? edited by flydiver11 on 15/06/2012 edited by flydiver11 on 15/06/2012

We have always taken our Quinny Buzz on board with no hassles. Just ask the crew when you get to the plane door!

Thanks everyone...so very helpful and so many options. I am still thinking Quinny Zapp as I can buy it here and the original plan was for me to use it to get back to UK via Frankfurt in July with a 6 months preggy baby bump...one last question though, does the Zia fold up and go in the overhead bin on the plane? thanks again everyone, so very helpful!!

The Zapp is better than nothing! It depends on your child. My DD is older (just turned 2) and so a bit more sturdy than your LO! The other option to consider perhaps is an ergo baby carrier (but again it depends on how big your bump is!) You can use the Ergo on your front or back and they can be used up to the age of about 3 or 4. I've got one and last summer put my eldest in the Zapp (aged 4) and my youngest in the Ergo (aged 13 months) so it may be a good investment for future travelling anyway. HTH!

Also the Phil and teds wiggle wrapper is awesome for travelling! Or even just days out in Dubai. I strap it around a spare seat, and my LO could sit up and use the tray. Gives your lap a well earned rest :) http://philandteds.com/products/feed/wrigglewrapper

Not sold in the uk that I know of. Also they have a better basket than the zapp, so you can carry things without it tipping, and the handles are adjustable, so great for tall dars. Ergo carriers are also great for traveling. I'm using mine to go to the uk and picking up a Zia when I get there. I'll order it on amazon so it's waiting for us :)

flydiver...yes, my DD won't really sleep in the pushchair any more, only if she's asleep in my arms and then we put her in it...the petite zia sounds like a good idea though thanks..now I need to figure out how to shop and ship...do they not sell them in UAE?

I love my zapp, but my LO wouldn't sleep in a stroller reclined or not. You can also shop and ship the petite zia star from the uk. They are cheap, fold the same as a zapp, have a wider seat, and recline :)

Banana...how did you get on with it not reclining? My DD is 8 months old. Do I need it to recline for her to sleep in it? ck30 - does Zapp extra fold up to fit into overhead cabin?

I also have the zapp and love it. Only prob is that it doesn't recline and I need a Reclining one for my summer holiday. I heard you can just buy the zapp xtra seat and it will fit to the zapp frame. Anyone possibly selling one?

We bought our Zapp from Babyshop at the last sale and got 50% off. I think they may be having a sale again now?

I've got the old style Zapp (the non-recliner) and always take it on board as hand luggage. I've got the storage bag that it comes with and have never had a problem. I've flown with both Emirates and Gulf Air. Sorry I'm not selling mine yet but definitely worth it, even if you don't have a stopover.
