DD has developed this angry looking rash around her mouth and chin. Its red and in Little bumps. She is not drooling more then normal, so not sure if its teething.

I gave her some hipp organic infant cereal banana and peach for the first time this morning, so not sure if this has caused it. This is the only new thing she has eaten since we started weaning.

Do I wait for it to clear and not give her the cereal or just take her to the doc anyway?

Hi Tanya!! We doing well, all fun and games here. I'm really enjoy DD, she has grown up so quickly! Thanks for the information about what your doc said. I will panic less now. Thanks again. How are you and LO getting on? M so far solids has been going OK. I'm only giving her 1 meal a day, and the rest of the time she is on breast milk. I am making the purees myself and freeze. She is taking everything very well to be honest. I am yet to try her with baby rice. So far she is having only fruit and veggies purees that I'm making. She is OK with the cereal, this is the only new thing I have tried. And she did get the rash again so I'm not sure about it. It's nice when they have healthy apatites. Can I ask how many meals you are giving your LO? I just don't remember when to increase the numbers of meals!!! Even though she is my second I have forgotten what I did with DS as he is nearly 5 years old now!!!!

Hi, we are having the same problem with our 19 week old DD. I noticed the bumps are more prominent when she is trying to gobble her entire fist into her mouth. We also started solids in the past week and at first I thought it could be a reaction. Moonbean - how is your LO taking to the cereal? We have tried organic cereal which tastes rather bland but DD is happy to take it and we have also tried Heinz organic pear and banana puree which she loves and growls at me if I don't give her enough of it!

Hey Moonbean! How r u and LO doing? My DD has the same thing going on...it started when we started feeding her and I spoke to the doc about it coz she cudnt have been allergic to everything!! Nothing to worry he said, it happens because they tend to spill and drool while eating and that may cause rashes on their sensitive skin...just ensure that you clean well after meals and it should dissipate...but do see your doc incase its some kind of allergy... Cheers! Tanya edited by tanya80 on 08/11/2011
