Hello - does anyone have any experience of doing this? I've looked at the DIFC law and can't seem to see anything dealing with this. We may have to move overseas so I may have no other options...

I did this too - was working for a company owned by DIFCA. I had negotiated about 6 months' mat leave altogether (45 working days full [ay + 45 working days half pay + accrued leave + 1 month unpaid leave) and I resigned around 6 weeks before I planned to return to work. I got all the gratuity I was entitled to.

Hi I am assuming that you are worried about your gratuity etc? I resigned while on my maternity leave in order to get as much money as possible. I worked for a law firm in the DIFC and I also did the research. In my home country you cannot resign while on maternity leave, but in the DIFC there is no such law that prevents you from doing so. I had 3 months maternity and before commencing my final month I resigned (had to give a months' notice). Hope this helps!
