Rocker for baby

I'm just trying to understand when exactly one uses rocker for a baby. I know it's basically used to rock the baby to sleep, but when the baby does sleep in it after being rocked, does one then put him into the crib? Or do they leave the baby to sleep in the rocker for a long time? Since the baby is in the sitting position rather than sleeping one in the rocker, is it safe for their back?

My twins are only about six weeks old now and I put them together in their crib, but these days on most they refuse to sleep in it. We have to cuddle them, rock them in our arms our just shift them to my bed and leave them there.

I'm just thinking if it'll be a good idea to buy a rocker because it's so hard to stay awake for long hours during the night and keep rocking one crying baby, let alone two.

sent- you can remove your emails ladies! My guy was a refluxer too, you can incline the moses basket slightly, the best position for a reflux baby is flat but higher at head end, if that makes sense (so the bed is like the edge of a right angle triangle rather than their body being hunched.) Are you swaddling? I found swaddling (using a miracle blanket) really really helpful and swaddled until DS was 5 months old.

depends what you mean by rocker, some "rockers" are more like bouncers and are for when they are awake. We had the mama's and papa's nest which is this type but quite deep and Ds did occasionally nap in it, but I wouldn't have left him in it overnight as like in a carseat, their head is pushed forward slightly which restricts breathing. We also had a moses basket which you could rock (also mamas and papas) and you could use that to rock to sleep if you wanted/needed to. There are also automated rockers which rock themselves but I'm not really sure how flat the baby lies in these. Do you have the no-cry sleep solution pdf? I can't remember if I gave it to you already but if not let me know your email address and I can send it to you, it has advice on how to wean your baby from being rocked to sleep. 6 weeks is usually the hardest time, most babies are the most unsettled/cry the most at approx this age so hang in there and things will start to get better from now! Hi Kiwi You seem to know so much. I honestly don't know the true difference between rocker and bouncer but I'm guessing I'm looking at a rocker, not the latter. I came across a Juniors rocker which can be set in recline position (which can be used after milk for my baby with reflux), also, which can be rocked. I'm finding it just so hard to put them to sleep in their crib, so I NEED some alternatives. I don't think Moses basket is good for me because it can only be placed flat? Pls email me the PDF.
