Well, the doc will probably say it's ok and will give you suppositories - some doc say that this happens with some bf babies. That's what happened to us when DD was 6-7 months, we've just started on solid food and I think we changed her formula. It took us about 2+ weeks to get rid of the constipation. Don't worry it will pass

I have booked an appointment with my paediatrician for my 8 month constipated baby. What should I be expecting? Gel suppositories? Is it painful/ uncomfortable for the baby? I just want to be prepared when I go in. DS has not pooped for the last 4 days. He is also not eating much, constantly refusing all the food. He has been pretty much on breastmilk for the last 3 days. Also, the last time he pooped, it was 3-4 times in the day. It was very hard in the beginning but by the last poop, the consistency was alright. He was a little distressed about it though. I have constantly been giving him water and have stopped giving him all constipating foods (BRAT, potatoes, etc.). I have tried everything from my side. Increased water intake, prunes, watermelon, orange juice, tummy massage, bicycle legs, but no success so far :( I am worried that DS should not be holding it in...... Anyone been to paed here for constipation?
